GPRS IP Module

The Spectrum GPRS IP solution allows deployment of any Spectrum Weather Station or Data Logger into a remote unmaned location. The GPRS module uploads data to a web site at intervals of your choice. You can have the data uploaded to specweather.com or use one of our Verdict options or even host it on your own webserver - the choice is yours.

The GPRS IP solution is ideal for;

• those managing remote facilities where no permanent infrastructure is available.
• deployment in field trials to monitor and record on standardised equipment across multiple sites.
• creation of co-op or subscription services for regional data, forecasting and disease / pest prediction.

The GPRS controller minimises up time thus reducing the size of solar panel and battery power required. The only running cost will be a contract mobile sim card however the amount / bandwidth used will be small and controlled by how frequently you choose to upload. The internal ariel is sufficient for most locations but an external Omni or Yagi can easily be used to boost performance where the signal is not so good.

Because the station is still data logging you are protected against any communications problems or failures as the logger will carry on regardless  storing months worth of data.
