Fireblight Disease

A Plant Disease Station measuring Temperature and Leaf Wetness with an Apple & Pear disease and insect forecast software module allows the grower to become more proactive in the fight against disease and insects. It will determine the risk for a specific disease based on the weather parameters in its location. Speaking at the recent BIFGA Technical Day EMR's Angela Berrie warned of Fireblight risk. Dr Berrie gave a clear warning saying “My advice is 'growers be vigilant', do not be complacent, and monitor, if your can, what is happening in 2009” .
