Verdict Systems
Verdict Systems in conjunction with Spectrum technologies have developed a web server based solution that provides weather and environment based modelling for agriculture and horticulture. These screen shots show the system in use as a subscription based service for FruitMasters in the Netherlands. It uses low cost Spectrum 2900ET GPRS systems with additional sensors to provide the data which is then fed by GPRS to their web site. Here it is presented as all the weather variables (current and over time) as well as a full disease and pest prediction for top fruit growers using RimPro ananlysis software. The site has the added benefit of pulling in local current weather forecast maps for the region.
This methodology can be adapted for almost any group of users. For example it could be cereal crops, turf management or perhaps a wider rainfall and irregation view. Of course the availablity of 3rd party modelling software will be a factor in the end product.
The individual station data can also be meade available as a download into SpecWare Pro software for local analysis or use with the Specware pest and disease modells.
The package is available as a hosted service for any group of users for either private use or as a subscription service. In addition there are options for single or small users to use shared space.
