Chlorophyll & NDVI
Why measure chlorophyll? Chlorophyll is a green pigment that allows plants to perform photosynthesis: the process of converting light energy into chemical energy. This process uses sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into the building blocks of plants. Measuring chlorophyll in plants can help us understand their health, productivity, and ecological status.
Because nitrogen is a part of chlorophyll, by measuring chlorophyll, we can indirectly measure the amount of nitrogen in the plant. This allows for more efficient scheduling of fertiliser applications.
