As part of a fundamental programme of good turf management, gWest wanted to promote a good soil/water relationship management system. To accurately monitor the soil/water relationship, required a soil moisture meter. Whilst at Cranfield the course manager studied soil moisture characteristics and how moisture affects both turf and soil performance. Part of his study looked at a range of tools to take readings to interpret what is going on beneath their feet. From this prior knowledge
