TDR300

Founded in 1898 Ealing Golf Club is an 18 hole parkland course which is described as ‘delightful and challenging’ by both member and visitors with greens being acclaimed by top players.

Greg Evans is the course manager at Ealing Golf Club, he is also a consultant advising numerous golf clubs around Great Britain. Greg has been at Ealing for over 6 years and started his consultancy 3 years ago after spending years playing great golf and winning several county and national events.

Greg came to EnviroMonitors after hearing good things about the usability of the FieldScout TDR meters from a couple of greenkeepers who were using them on their courses. He purchased the FieldScout TDR300 meter for use at Ealing Golf Club to help him understand soil moisture content in ‘real time’. Greg found EnviroMonitors to be ‘very helpful and friendly’.

After previously testing a few other soil moisture meters on the market Greg found that the TDR300 ‘is the most user friendly’.

The FieldScout TDR300 has fitted into the greenkeeping teams regime well.  Greg and his deputy, who is also the clubs irrigation technician, use the moisture meter first thing in the morning to check the soil moisture content for the day ahead.

Along with the FieldScout TDR300 moisture meter the club also uses an Infiltration meter, compaction tester, a prism gauge, stimp meter, core sampler and rain gauges.
